With degrees in both Psychology and Clinical Social Work, Steve completed University studies in 1981, followed by an additional post-graduate practicum in 1983. Since that time he has provided direct clinical services and clinical supervisory services in hospital, clinic or nonprofit agency settings in Portland Oregon as well as developing his private psychotherapy practice. Private practice has been the sole focus since 1993 and consists of providing direct care as well as providing training, consultation and clinical supervision services to students, graduate supervisees and licensed therapists studying and working in various settings. He is involved with various national and international professional clinical associations, holds Board Certified Diplomate status, and is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress. When not working Steve spends time relaxing with family and friends, enjoying the many recreational and cultural activities available in the beautiful pacific northwest, traveling, and pursuing his alternate path of being an itinerant blues musician.
